What We Did

Hurricane Florence and the floods that followed devastated much of the lower east coast. In New Bern, a senior citizen who spent her life helping others recover from disasters found her own home gutted by the hurricane; most of the town of Trenton’s businesses were ruined by floods. With nearly 100 students, we began to put things to rights, making several needed repairs to a home and gutting six businesses for reconstruction. In addition, we began drywall work on a new regional agency for disaster relief and refurbished the Trenton Town Hall. The mayor of Trenton treated us to a traditional southern BBQ!
