What We Did

An emergency call to Interact just one day after the F5 tornado ripped through Joplin found us preparing a special emergency trip, and we were one of the first service groups to arrive on scene, working alongside the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Red Cross, and the Salvation Army. We excavated homes, worked with survivors for supplies and FEMA forms, and salvaged what we could. The Kansas City Chiefs came down one afternoon to work, and a local radio station treated us to a local amusement park night.
