(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiphopdx.com\/index\/news\/id.23614\/title.50-cent-recalls-losing-his-mother-has-no-interest-in-meeting-father\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooper<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chisnell.com\/chizblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/08\/50-cent.jpg?resize=400%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rapper 50 Cent reflects on the death of his mother. \u00a0He was eight years old, too young to understand, and the adults around his life would say to him, \u201cShe\u2019s not coming back,\u201d but he refused to listen to them (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiphopdx.com\/index\/news\/id.23614\/title.50-cent-recalls-losing-his-mother-has-no-interest-in-meeting-father\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooper<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). Unlike Bambi\u2019s father, Curtis Jackson\u2019s father was absent from his life; and, unlike Bambi, Jackson would have to find his way to \u201cPrince of the Forest\u201d on his own. \u00a0I don\u2019t know if Jackson<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ever saw the Disney film, but it\u2019s fairly clear from his career path and thoughts on love that he may have benefited, not only from having had a father figure in his life, but from the movie\u2019s lessons on adulthood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jackson insists that he respects women, puts them on a pedestal, even. \u00a0Of course, this is only because of their beauty. \u00a0And only a few \u201cQueens,\u201d for reason. The rest, he says, are \u201cb****es and hoes\u201d (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pr.com\/article\/1136\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kugel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). \u00a0His attitude may be evident through the lyrics of his art:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Yeah! &#8211; I got all kinda b****es: from vet b****es to beginner b***h (uh!)<br \/>\nMy phone ringing and I ain&#8217;t answering cause I&#8217;m in a b***h. (yeah!)<br \/>\nI&#8217;m all like a pimp than a trick. &#8211; I send a b***h! (hahaaa!)<br \/>\n50&#8217;s and lead escorts, call me the runner b***h. (whoooooo-whooooooooooooooohhhhhh!)<br \/>\nIf we going out, we going dutch pay for your inner, b***h!<br \/>\nLook b***h! &#8211; This is my life, I&#8217;m on some different sh*t.<br \/>\nEvery different day I wake up to play with a different b***h<br \/>\nB****es love me. (yeah!) &#8211; Just like I loooove me! (yeah, YEEEAH!)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 360px;\">(\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=C7WALks4J5c\">All His Love<\/a>\u201d)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here 50 Cent struts his status as a player, boasting about how many woman he uses. Their names are irrelevant, their interests, too. \u00a0His insistence that they \u201clove me\u201d strikes us as shallow, even na\u00efve. \u00a0How could they? \u00a0Unless his idea of love is completely warped. \u00a0While Jackson claims that the loss of his mother was a major impact on his young life. Had he a mother to remind him of basic decency in interacting with people, had he a father who stayed to teach him how to act like a man, the sort of Prince 50 Cent would become might look very different.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the 50 Cent Prince of the Forest<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is, in fact, very shallow, and very temporary. \u00a0Debuting a powerful set of albums in 2003, he has not produced a single album since 2009, and that one\u2014<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before I Self Destruct<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014failed to reach gold. Beset by legal problems, Jackson is finally about to release another album after many false starts, but early reviews aren\u2019t positive. \u00a0To be a Forest Prince, something more tangible, powerful is required. \u00a0Jackson does have power\u2014nearly gunned down in the street is 2000, much of his fame is built upon this near-martyrdom (and a deal to sell vitamin water) (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2010\/12\/17\/AR2010121705271.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charnas<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). But fame, power, and princedom require more than a near death experience and a slick business sense. \u00a0Bambi\u2019s rise is inevitable, permanent, marked by genuine love, respect, and power based on nobility, morality, and truth. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In stark contrast to 50 Cent, Bambi builds himself to Princedom through his love, friendships, and simple humility. \u00a0He does not buy Faline\u2019s physical attention or even remark on her obvious cute factor. Instead, with an endearing innocence, he builds a friendship and devotion to her. \u00a0He nobly battles Ronno for her. \u00a0He protects his family from fire, wards off attack dogs, and finds his way back to her. In short, Bambi earns both love and power. He does it because he is genuine, and he does it because he has a father who teaches him. Jackson does not want to even meet his, though he admits that he might not have made so many mistakes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiphopdx.com\/index\/news\/id.23614\/title.50-cent-recalls-losing-his-mother-has-no-interest-in-meeting-father\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooper<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One might argue that Bambi is a fictional character and 50 Cent is real. \u00a0Given. Yet we must not forget that it is Curtis Jackson who is as real as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bambi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> author Felix Salten. \u00a050 Cent is Jackson\u2019s fiction as Bambi is Salten\u2019s. And, as Jackson himself says of art, \u201cNobody\u2019s gonna pay a million dollars for me . . . \u00a0scribbling (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pr.com\/article\/1136\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kugel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). \u00a0You said it, Mr. Jackson. This is why you found a few quick years of infamy while Bambi endures.
