Getting Caught Up This Fall

Here are some notes about putting yourself in the best position for the class beginning this fall:

  • The Prologue is scheduled to close completely Sept. 7. These next few weeks are considered “emergency weeks” for the Prologue.  After Sept. 8, the Moodle scores will be updated on MiStar. This should give everyone some additional time to get squared away..
  • August novel work for Moodle continues to have a deadline of Sept. 14.

I’m behind. How does this affect my grade?

Everyone who waits until the last two weeks of August to begin work has a tough time ahead. But that doesn’t make everything unrecoverable. Some of you will be entering class Sept. 4 behind in your work.  Here, then, is a summary of where you may be, the consequences of that, and what you will need to do to catch up.

Please be warned and treat my warning as honest and absolute:  If you continue to procrastinate in September, you may find first marking period grades unrecoverable.

My principles behind this plan:

  1. Those who worked according to May directions and complete work on time should be rewarded;
  2. Those who simply avoided the work (and/or continue to) meet fair consequences.

**If by September 7 you have not made any effort to move forward, I will make parent contact with the objective of removing you from AP Literature.

This is quite simple:  Work well and in earnest, accepting responsibility for your place in an Advanced Placement course and you will succeed here; play some game with the course and your grade will be crushed.
